For residents in North Newnton, Charlton St Peter, Rushall, Beechingstoke, Woodborough, Pewsey and Manningford
Wiltshire Council is working with the Centre of Sustainable Energy (CSE) on the Future Energy Landscapes project, funded by Ofgem's Redress Fund. This initiative explores how Wiltshire can meet future energy needs in a sustainable, locally-appropriate and community-led way, empowering residents to shape how energy is generated and used in their area.
Six pilot areas in Wiltshire are being supported to investigate renewable energy through workshops and engagement events. These sessions spark conversations about renewable energy, energy use and keeping homes warm, while tackling rising costs.
A workshop for the Pewsey and Manningford areas took place in November 2025. As a result of the workshop, the area covered by this initiative has been extended to include residents in North Newnton, Charlton St Peter, Rushall, Beechingstoke and Woodborough as well as Pewsey and Manningford.
The outcome of the survey will inform Wiltshire Council’s Future Energy Landscapes programme (https://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/green-economy-renewable-energy ) and Zero North Wiltshire (a community energy company, https://www.zeronorthwiltshire.co.uk/) as to whether there is enough support to warrant the expense of a formal community consultation and planning application for a community energy project.
We’ve received just 22 responses so far - far too few to move this project forward. If you want your voice to count, now is the time to act. The deadline has been extended to 29th April, but this is the final opportunity to take part. Please complete the survey before it closes.
